Irene Buenaventura is about to discover she has a special sense to see and to communicate with an alternate world; with the supernatural where lost souls endlessly wander. The last time Irene felt a cold chill run through her that made her whole body shiver, shake and break into a cold sweat – a recurring feeling she gets when being in confined, solitary spaces - she had been at the Gran Hotel; the place where her aunt Otilia works. This old building which for years now holds The Grand Hotel seems to hold a strange energy for her. Irene is not wrong: the walls of The Grand Hotel hold within them the decaying corps of Don Americo Esquivel; the hotel’s owner who was murdered by his own niece and her collaborators. Julieta, Don Americo’s niece an her collaborators, all driven by their greed could not accept not having access to the old man’s buried treasure, which according to rumors, he had for the longest time, hidden somewhere in the hotel; and for this reason they killed him. Before passing away Don Americo threw a curse at his assassins where disgrace would fall upon any one of them who so much as came near to the treasure which is rightfully his by paying with his own life. The news about Americo’s disappearance tortures the hotel staff, particularly Otilia the hotel’s elevator operator. She cannot believe that Americo has fled, especially now that he knows about their daughter’s existence and that she has accepted to publicly accept their relationship. Otilia has a terrible feeling regarding Don Americo’s disappearance. For this reason she decides to quit her job asking her niece Irene to replace her as the elevator’s operator so that she fully concentrate in finding Americo. Simultaneously with Irene’s arrival at the hotel will be the arrival of our male lead, the man who will steal Irene’s heart: Miguel Toro. Miguel is a civil engineer who for years dedicated himself with passion, heart and should to finding the world’s deepest hidden treasures. In fact, five years ago it was the search for a chest filled with pearls, together with an irreversible fight with Gabriel, his father, that made Miguel flee on his wedding day leaving Julieta Falquez at the altar. The days go by but there is no evidence or hope of ever finding the supposed treasure. During his search Miguel finds evidence that Americo and Otilia had had a relationship in the past. This fact allows him to think that by coming closer and into a relationship with Irene he could obtain some clues from the near mute Otilia associated with the missing treasure. Americo wants to reveal the truth of his death but he must first learn to communicate with those who are alive. Miguel, sorry for using Irene, now resorts to supernatural methods to try and find the missing treasure. Miguel finds himself exposed and he becomes possessed by the strengthened evil spirit of Marco Arrieta. The only one capable or fixing this chaos is Irene, but in order for her to achieve this she will have to make the dead reconcile with those alive, so that at the end all of them can rest and live in peace. Feliz estadía y recuerde: en el Gran Hotel, usted nunca estará solo. Américo Esquivel Gerente y Propietario.
